세포생물학자. 환경학자 코머너의 4 가지 생태학적 법칙 Barry Commoner (1917–2012) 1. 모든 것은 서로에게 연결되어 있다. - 모든 유기체들의 생태계가 있어서, 그 안에서 어떤 한 개체에 영향을 주는 것은 전체에 영향을 미친다. Everything is connected to everything else. There is one ecosphere for all living organisms and what affects one, affects all. 2. 모든 것은 어디론가 흘러가야 한다. -자연에는 버려질 것이 없고 버려질만한 데도 없다.(자연에는 쓸모없는 것이 없고 쓸모없는 데도 없다). Everything must go somewhere. There is no "waste" in nature and there is no "away" to which things can be thrown. 3. 자연이 가장 잘 안다. -인류는 자연을 개선하려는 첨단의 기술을 갖고 있지만, 자연계에서 그런 변화는 오히려 자연을 망가트릴 수 있다. Nature knows best. Humankind has fashioned technology to improve upon nature, but such change in a natural system is, says Commoner, "likely to be detrimental" to that system" 4. 그 어느 것도 공짜는 없다. -자연을 개발하면서 유용했던 자원도 쓸모없게 변형되고 만다는 점을 어쩔 수 없이 맞이할 것이다. There is no such thing as a free lunch. The exploitation of nature will inevitably involve the conversion of resources from useful to useless forms. |
